About Lightz

Fred Durst

This is for the very few that are clearly lost in their lack of self awareness and evolution,

This track Lightz is the outcome of a very unique experience we had with Cash Money producer Detail. We really enjoyed our time together and are proud of the collaboration. As a rock band we find ways to get off the beat and path so we can enjoy the perspective from other points of view. It’s refreshing to step away from the norm every once in a while. It’s helps us remember who we are. As for your sluggish and negative comments, they’re just another reminder of why we do whatever WE want to do. We don’t encourage such negativity and surely don’t want to embrace it either. You continue doing what YOU do and we’ll continue doing what WE do. We’re proud of you for being you, regardless. Some people are so miserable with themselves that they need to bully others to feel anything remotely rewarding at all. As a victim of that behavior for the majority of my life, I feel for you and sincerely hope you find happiness without it being at the expense of abusing others. We will continue to provide plenty of polarizing material for your own personal therapy. We love you. All of you. And we are very grateful for what you’ve done for us. Enjoy the ride. It’s one hell of a roller coaster.

    December 12, 2013 at 12:57 am

And there you go again, making it all about yourself and how you’ve been bullied in your life. Just because you can’t handle criticism on something you re(re?)leased.
We really appreciate you taking time to explain how this song was created and what the intentions behind it were, but every other thing you said was just unnecessary, since of the 50+ comments in the previous post only 2 or 3 were downright mean and bully-like. Everyone else who didn’t like the song has,so far, expressed it in a civil manner, without being a dick about it. It looks like there’s always a time of the year where you just go ahead and call us out. I really hope you can,one day, accept that not every LB fan is going to like whatever you do and that is just a part of the game of being in a band,ANY band. We mean no disrespect at all and whatever we say is because, after all the years of trials and tribulations,we still care about the band. We hope SOTDE rocks our socks off! Merry X-mas to you and the rest of the band!

You know what they say Fred……who wants to ride the marry-go-round when there’s the roller coaster! There will always be haters all they do is motivate! The negative commenters obviously don’t listen to lyrics along with the sounds behind the words… cause its amazing!! Thank you for being so postive fred. Its refreshing! And I guess also if they don’t like it, don’t listen, they do have a choice…

I think is not about Fred at all, I think it is about people criticizing something without a true opinion, that is disgusting and piss off anyone. We are all waiting for SOTDE, I really enjoy Lightz, the lyrics are so great, but if you don’t like it just say it but don’t write bullshits that doens’t care about the topic

I heard this track a while ago and I still think the same…it’s just like other old LB stuff. They got that heavy nu metal side and then they got the slow side. Some of the slow stuff is their best. Walking Away is one of my favs

    R.I.P. LB ((

I’m still a bit torn when it comes to Lightz. It might not be my cup of tea, but I enjoy the fact that one of my favorite bands can be this versatile. I mean, if you’re an artist you can’t just churn out the same song over and over again. Not that LB has ever been guilty of that.

    December 12, 2013 at 8:18 am

Limp Bizkit has always been my source of company and escape in the hardest moments of my life, I thank you that you continue to exist in the life of each of us who have followed the lasting many years until this day. I love every one of you.

The music that you have created will always be the best that exists, Lightz is a beautiful and very motivating song, I look forward to developing new material for us.

True Words! They do what they want since the Beginning of an Era. An Era that hopefully never ends. LBF till Death!!

    December 12, 2013 at 9:16 am

I’ve already argued why I don’t particularly enjoy Lightz, despite knowing how LB always used to include mellow/poppish songs on their albums.and being ok with it. I think everyone else did too. They think it has a sound that’s too much far from everything LB released and that Fred’s voice sounds bad through autotune. Time for him to take it in and stop writing messages where he plays the victim about some fans’ behaviour. I only consider what people have been writing in here,I haven’t checked the comments on FB or twitter,so maybe he’s right about some “fans” conducting themselves in a dickish way,but then again,he should have avoided writing this post,if he really doesn’t care.
    Limp Bizkit 4 life!

    December 12, 2013 at 12:21 pm

Fuck em.. all this stupid haters. It’s cool to see something different once in a while. And by the way i feel that LB should be more serious musically cuz i’m kinda bored of songs like Ready To go. Peace out!

Well spoken, Freddy! I love you and support you … the changes are good., I accept them is cool have different sounds and i’m waiting for more :D (hell yeah)! …This is the band that I love and respect! Thanks for everything we love you …LBF!
and for those haters ,.do not waste your valuable time.. !

Muahhhhhhhh Keep On Rolling Baby …!

    I LOVE LIGHTZ!!!! ♥ :)

    December 12, 2013 at 8:35 pm

It is not about bullying, Fred. I LOVE LB! That is why this song hurts so much. It is simply dissapointing. One can collaborate and/or be versatile without conforming.

i love the new track and video!

    December 12, 2013 at 10:26 pm

For me it’s part of the fun of being a bizkit fan. you dont know whats coming and yea you wont like every song, but why would it matter..some people think that 1 song they dont like means they immediately wont like any of the other songs (see the rip comments) its their view, sure, but those are gonna miss out. This is limp bizkit, they mess about, do their thing, we should be used to that by now right? ;) lets just enjoy, or if you dont, dont listen :) no problems <3

    December 13, 2013 at 5:11 pm

It’s a great song and if you don’t like then fuck off and don’t listen to it. Very simple.

    December 13, 2013 at 5:38 pm

Enough dirt! Good song, it’s different, but that does not mean bad!

    December 13, 2013 at 6:46 pm

All I could think while watching the video for the first time: After all the bullshit, this band is still making music, there’s an album coming. WTF else do you need? If you don’t like something, you’re free to move past it. It really is that simple. There’s probably at least one song on every LB album that’s just too slow, too mellow for me, so I skip past it, I don’t shit talk the fucking band for making the song. Don’t you like seeing your favorite band making music and touring again? 2014 is gonna be the SHIT! Bring on the stampede.

    December 14, 2013 at 8:57 pm

But it’s NOT conforming for LB. It’s different than anything they’ve done. Lightz is LB trying something they’ve never done before and seeing what the outcome is. If LB only did what the FANS wanted, and not what THEY wanted, the music would be passionless. I mean, since when did ARTISTS like being told what to do? That’s the WHOLE POINT. To express YOURSELF, not someone else.

If you are a fan of Lightz, great. Listen to it. If you’re not, then don’t listen to it.

    December 14, 2013 at 8:59 pm

The tone of this completely shifted from “Fred you’re selfish and it ain’t all about you and please stop whining about being bullied”, to “oh we love you and merry Xmas!”

    December 14, 2013 at 9:03 pm

It’s not conforming. For LB. It’s different than anything else they’ve done. Here’s a band that wanted to try a crunchy Pop rap rock song, just to see what it would sound like. If yall want more of the same old same old then go listen to your album of choice.

I like this song a lot. Limp is unique in that they can do so many different things. Fuck the negative ppl. Love limp and always will.

    December 15, 2013 at 11:34 am

Because at the end ot the day I’m a kind individual and love the band regardless of this misstep.

    December 16, 2013 at 12:06 pm

I really felt that way when I saw this song.

I love the song, this band has helped me out a lot through tough times a d helped me enjoy the good times..this is just a different flavor of the Bizkit cake and I love it. Keep on doing what you’re doing cuz I love LB until I die

    Metal snobs are awesome

    December 20, 2013 at 6:09 pm

Metal Snobs are awesome. Why would they make the same old stuff. Been there done that. If you like their old stuff, buy their old album. Coming on a website and being a keyboard tough guy and calling the guy a dick so you can try and elicit a response from him is played. The band could post a big middle finger on their website and say “if you dont like this song go shoot yourself” and thats their right to do so. You dont have to like it, buy it, watch it or even acknowledge it exists. If the guy feels like the people bashing the song are douche bags (pun not intended) then in his eyes they are. Perception is reality. People hating on something because they dont like it/dont understand it does very little to disprove the comment. I, myself, dont care for thieves. Just not my cup of tea. Does this mean that my favorite band has failed me? Does this mean they have “conformed” to the screamo metal heads? No. Me not liking it doesnt even mean its not a good song. Just means i’m not feeling it. Fans really need to find the middle place between being an ass kissing fanboy and an over critical asshole.

    December 20, 2013 at 9:56 pm

Now you are a rock band. OK. But this song is from a band rushed with a lot of nonsense strawberry bubblegum. You have to fight for say something important to the world not for being another poppy-easy-melody-band at the mainstream. Only brilliant part of this track comes from WB solo. For easylistening -your purpose- I watch the MTV and practise a lobotomy to my brain. Don’t make me laugh. A band that released an EP like The Unquestionable Truth call to Lightz versatility. For me you are trying to be on the top again by the easy way, and that’s the only truth, and you were in top a few years ago for smashing MTV with metal riffs and rapping words people need to hear. Now, your fans are living hard times and we miss your rage and force from your guitar, bass, drums and rap for continue living day by day.

Really, being here in Germany, I wondered what happened to LB after “Behind Blue Eyes”. Years passed by, new musical influence grew and I still heard not much about your band. Ok, let’s be honest, I am not a fan boy but I like what you did in the past and recent projects have a lot potential, too. I have to say that I really felt in love with “Lightz” almost immediately – it’s not your usual stuff and that’s why I can comprehend the discrepancy in your community.

I wish you all the best for the future and feel free to do what YOU want, since you don’t have to please anyone except yourselves. At the end of the day people will either like what you produce or not. That’s how it works.

The new album found the way on my purchase list!

    Cheers, Rob

    you know what?
my problem is NOT that you have tried out something different, my problem is that your piece of shit and excuse for a new song sounds exactly like any trash from the mainstream. I bet you even used Autotune.
So what you did there is some popular experiment to get a chance to be aired in radios, totally NOT what Limp bizkit ever needed. You said fuck you to all your fans in the worst possible way ever, your fans give it back to you and you cry about it like a little bitch.
Limp bizkit is done for me thanks to the moneybragging douchebag with the cap.
